Take Action! Help Haiti!

The needs in Haiti are changing, because of new laws many creche’s are not receiving the funding they need. Many are now behind on paying their staff, or are struggling to provide for the needs of the children. One of our in country partners has reported than many creche’s are closing their doors because of a lack of funds, as a result children are now being abandoned in the streets because no one can take them.

We have been made aware of a campaign for families to Adopt a room in an orphanage.  For example you can contribute to the “Baby Room”, where donations purchase things for that room and the children within it. The children’s clothing, the upkeep of the room, toys, supplies, furniture, food for the babies, etc. There is also a teen-age boys room, a girls room, toddlers room etc. that people can contribute towards.  In return you will receive photos of what your money is contributing to! Its fun to be a part of and it really helps!

I just wanted to take a moment to make you aware of the changing needs in Haiti. If you have the means please consider sponsoring a room in this orphanage, or sponsoring a child. Here is the link to the sponsorship page, or reach out to an orphanage you know and love and see how you can help to tangibly meet their needs.

The need is immediate, and your efforts really do make a difference!

Are you ready to lend your voice?

Sometimes it is a little too easy to forget the reality of daily life for orphans who are so far from where we are. Its sometimes easier to forget the suffering of others. We live in a world that is in great need of warriors to fight for those left behind. We need warriors to stand up to injustice and make a difference in the lives of others, especially the homeless, hungry, and destitute children of the world.

There are an estimated 150 million street children in the world today. Your actions can make a difference for these children. Our agency works with many countries where families are able to adopt street children like Felix who’s life is depicted in the video below. Please take a moment to watch this video and consider these four things:

  1. Speak with us about adoption contact lacee@childrenofallnations.com
  2. Contribute to the Red Nose day fund discussed in the video
  3. Adopt a room in a Haiti orphanage
  4. Sponsor a child at one of the links below, or call us at (512)323-9595 today!

Are you ready to fight? Are you ready to act? Are you ready to lend your voice?

4 Things You Didn’t Know About Adopting From Latvia

820
Latvia is one of the poorest countries within the European Union. The number of people struggling to live in poverty is rising since their separation from Russia in the 90’s.
The health care system remains one of the worst in Europe and as a result, Latvia has one of the lowest life expectancy rates in Europe. Most pertinently, there has been an increase in child mortality in recent years as a result of the poor health care. HIV/AIDS is also a problem – there are approximately 9,000 cases of the disease in Latvia.

The hopelessness of adults in E. Europe is so elevated now that the future of these kids is becoming bleaker and bleaker; something that simply cannot be tolerated! The Latvia government on the other hand is doing everything they can to make the adoption of their orphan children smooth and straightforward. They will do the matching based exactly on what you are open to. They will give you the option to review a file or a few files if necessary, before deciding whether or not the child or children is/are a good fit for your family. Most families are very happy with the first or second option they are presented with! So, if you are open to a child over age 8 or sibling groups and/or also would consider children with medical needs you could be matched very quickly after dossier submission.

Check out these 4 awesome things about Latvia adoption

Families typically see their first referral 6 months after submitting their dossier.

As soon as you accept a referral from Latvia you can travel to meet your child and bring them home after your first trip, there will be additional trips but you are not required to leave your child in country while the process takes place like with many other programs
Latvia is one of the poorest countries within the European Union. The number of people struggling to live in poverty is rising according to official statistics, 44% of children and young people are considered poor. Also there is a huge issue with human trafficking!

June is National Family Month

stephenson3 June is National Family Month celebrated from Mother’s Day through Father’s Day.  Regardless of their economic status, ethnic or cultural heritage, or geographic location, families are experiencing the pressures caused by contemporary society while trying to raise and nurture their children.  At this time, let’s make an extra special effort to do meaningful activities with your children.  Everyone has probably at least one vacation they want to take this summer, and Heaven knows we all need it, but try to remember little moments where mom and dad share a laugh, give a pat on the back or just listen to something silly a kid want to tell you even when you are at your busiest can go a very long way in strengthening your relationship.  Celebrate the amazing diversity and prosperity of our multicultural adoptive families who went to the furthest distances to build their families!  You make America a great place to grow up!  National Family Month was created by Kid’s Peace, the oldest, most successful, and most comprehensive not-for-profit organization dedicated solely to helping children attain the confidence and develop the courage necessary to confront and overcome crises.
